Silver Ball

Vacation day from the San Francisco library where I work, and sleeping late this morning felt welcome after a night of satisfactory but necessarily tense concentration on fitting up draperies inside the Sutter Street baby dwelling. The day was warm and bright, a good one to start the weekend on. Lately when I work at the computer in the kitchen I sit on the silver exercise ball instead of a chair, just because it turns out to be more comfortable. But from a distance it looks a little strange, as if aliens have landed in a very small spaceship or as if the computer has laid a very large egg.
