Magic Fairy Dust

I witnessed a significant baby-eureka moment Friday afternoon when Mabel Watson Payne demonstrated that sand can be trickled out of a tight fist into a lovely spray of individual grains traveling downward through the air just like the water does in the big fountains at Yerba Buena Gardens that she has often admired. My own discovery was that the 18-month size railroad-striped denim overalls (that looked so huge a few months ago when they appeared in Mabel's wardrobe) have already arrived at the stage of fitting perfectly.
