Summer Light

It was that very clear clean summer sunlight this afternoon in the Mission, and I was more out for the walk than to take pictures, but two subjects crossed my path that I could not resist. Above, the web of all-purpose decorations, hovering protectively over the entrance to somebody's life.

Below a new awning for the produce market. The lettering appeared to be hand-drawn (with considerable care and skill), modeled on a traditional typeface used frequently in Mexico on posters and mastheads and proclamations.
