London 1890


The 1890 edition of Boyle's Court Guide was in fact a fancied-up directory of more or less prominent Londoners. It included scatterings of almanac-style information. And advertisements, many advertisements  which function now quite accidentally as memorials to long-vanished objects.

The Whatswanted Travelling Basket (below) seems to signal its one-time existence from an immense distance.
