Studies II

While Columbus was in the last stages of arranging to make the famous cross-Atlantic voyage that would lead to so much trouble, Leonardo da Vinci was busy making anatomical studies  such as the foot of a bear, above. Many of his surviving drawings found their way by various means, at one time or another  into the Royal Collection.
